Advances in Biology and Treatment of Malignant Brain Gliomas

The second Edition of the International Congress on “Advances in Biology and Treatment of Malignant Brain Gliomas" will feature top leaders in the fields of Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Imaging and Treatment of Brain Tumors,  It is promoted by the Foundation Atena Onlus and is jointly organized with the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and the Columbia University in New York.

The purpose of the conference is therefore to present a highly updated state-of-art on the biology of brain tumors and to analyze the future objectives that translational research can achieve using molecular therapies. Particular attention will be paid to the analysis of innovative therapeutic strategies, to ongoing clinical trials, to the advances in diagnostic techniques and to the progress made in the fields of surgery and radiation therapy.

During the first day of this two-day meeting, we will discuss on “Genetics and Biology of Malignant Gliomas”; great attention will be also devoted to pediatric malignant brain tumors and to their therapeutic perspectives.AIn the morning of the second day there will be a session on targeted therapies, after which we will be discussing on brain tumor imaging. Finally, an afternoon session on the state-of-art of neurosurgical treatment of brain tumors, and on innovative techniques currently available in the operating room to eradicate brain cancer, will conclude the meeting.
