18th Annual Brain Tumor Update and 7th Annual International Symposium on Long-Term Control of Metastases to the Brain and Spine

 

This symposium will examine the therapeutic strategies in the management of central nervous system tumors and metastases. The program will review the molecular biology of glioma and innovative therapeutic approaches in treatment of glioma. There will be additional focus on Meningiomas and Pituitary Tumors. The Brain Tumor Partners in Care Session will enhance knowledge about brain tumor types, and treatments. Experts will present the latest data on management of survivorship needs, such as symptoms, coping, financial issues, palliative care and caregiving.

Target Audience

Neurosurgeons, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Neuro-oncologists, Neurologists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and allied healthcare professionals who work with patients with tumors.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to: 1.Discuss the roles of surgery, radiation therapy and systemic therapy in the management of central nervous system metastases. 2.Discuss the management of Meningiomas and Pituitary Tumors. 3.Discuss the innovative therapeutic approaches in treatment of gliomas. 4.Describe common tumor types, their effect on cerebral functions and their treatment. 5.Identify specific practical issues focusing on living with a brain tumor including: symptoms, caregiver needs, palliative care and financial aspects. 6.Provide management strategies for issues pertaining to living with a brain tumor.

Call For Papers

Abstracts will be solicited for electronic poster presentations. Electronic posters will be on display during breaks and lunch. Poster participants will be notified of acceptance as well as poster format and content requirements on or before October 7, 2016.
