About the Symposium
The 22nd Annual Brain Tumor Update and the 11th Annual Symposium on Brain Metastases and Spine Tumors is co-provided by Cleveland Clinic and Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. This advanced multidisciplinary virtual meeting is led by expert faculty from Cleveland Clinic and USC, with additional internationally recognized guest faculty. This symposium is designed to improve competence to assess and treat patients with brain tumors and primary tumors of the spine, especially as it relates to comparing treatments for brain metastases and primary spine tumors, evaluating new technologies, treating vestibular schwannomas, and assessing and treating gliomas, with the overall goal of improving outcomes in these patient populations.
Target Audience
Neurosurgeons, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Neuro-oncologists, Neurologists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and allied healthcare professionals who work with patients with tumors.
Objectives
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Summarize innovations in imaging, treatment, resection, and medical therapy for primary bone tumors of the spine.
- Critically appraise the issues for brain metastases treatment including neoadjuvant vs adjuvant radiosurgery, surgical treatments, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, and management of radiation necrosis.
- Describe the technological innovations in imaging, radiation, and surgery for brain tumor management and define their role in clinical practice.
- Review how developments in the recognition and management of vestibular schwannomas have improved outcomes, especially in quality of life.
- Describe advances in genomics, imaging, neuropathy, and medical management of gliomas.
Call For Papers
Abstracts will be solicited for electronic poster presentations. Electronic posters will be on display during breaks and lunch. Poster participants will be notified of acceptance as well as the Power Point poster format and content requirements on or before October 4, 2021.
