The primary mission of Diversity and Women in Neuro-Oncology (DWC) is to support minority and women clinicians, investigators, and trainees through education, mentorship, and the collection of resources and metrics.

DWC evolved from the combined efforts of Women in Neuro-Oncology and the diversity task force of the clinical trials enrollment working group who acknowledged a critical unmet need in the neuro-oncology community to support each other within this dynamic and evolving sub-specialty. Within this subcommittee, strategies will be developed to support the diverse and evolving needs of our members.  This committee is focused on promoting member engagement, research opportunities, and clinical care. Innovative solutions to the dilemmas faced by our members will be implemented. The Diversity and Women in Neuro-Oncology Committee welcomes collaboration with other SNO committees and working groups.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement
The Society for Neuro-Oncology believes that bringing together a diversity of backgrounds, cultures, and identities is integral to advancing multi-disciplinary research, education, and collaboration to drive discovery and improve patient care. We are committed to advancing our diversity, equity, and inclusion practices across events, journals, the member experience, and the larger neuro-oncology community. We aspire to these values for all members:
Transparency: Providing open and clear access to information and opportunities throughout the organization
Diversity: Involving a diverse mix of people—including institutions, geographies, and disciplines—across everything we do
Equity: Providing education and opportunities to promote diverse participation and leadership as well as support research and initiatives to provide care for all in neuro-oncology
Inclusion: Encouraging members to be themselves while being heard and respected to build a culture of belonging—this is your neuro-oncology home
