Jennifer Yu, MD, PhD, is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for Neuro-Oncology. Dr. Yu is an Associate Professor and Staff Physician at the Department of Radiation Oncology and Department of Cancer Biology at the Cleveland Clinic and co-Leader of the Cancer Stem Cell Working Group at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center.  She specializes in radiation oncology with a focus on brain tumors.  She is the Founding Director of the Center for Hyperthermia at the Cleveland Clinic. She has made seminal contributions in the understanding of the glioblastoma cellular hierarchy as it relates to different microenvironmental contexts. Glioma stem cells reside in different niches, including the perivascular and hypoxic niches. She has found that glioma stem cells in different niches utilize distinct pathways to maintain stemness.  As a result, tailored strategies are needed to kill GSC populations in different niches.  Dr. Yu completed her MD, PhD degrees at Columbia University and radiation oncology residency at the University of California, San Francisco.  Dr. Yu is a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
